Privacy Policy

Chefling ("Chefling", "the app", "we", "us") is a meal planning app made by Clumsy Cow. It turns a few choices into a week of recipes, a shopping list sorted by aisle, and a record of what you already have at home.
This policy describes what passes through Chefling and what does not. It is short because Chefling collects very little.
1. There is no account
Chefling works with no sign up. You may optionally sign in with Apple so that your plan follows you to a new device. If you do, we receive the anonymous identifier Apple gives us and, if you choose to share it, your first name. We never receive your Apple password, and we never see your real email address unless you choose to share it.
2. What stays on your phone
Your weekly plan, your shopping list, your favourites, your pantry and your preferences are stored on your device. They are not uploaded, not backed up to us, and not readable by us. Deleting the app deletes them.
3. What is sent when you build a plan
To build a week we send the choices you made: your supermarket, the number of people you cook for, your weekly budget, your dietary requirements, your allergies, foods you avoid, foods you like, your kitchen appliances and the days your week covers.
We do not send your name, your email address, your location or your device identifiers. The request is not tied to an identity, because there is none.
4. The subscription
Chefling Pro is bought and managed entirely through the App Store. Apple handles the payment, and we never see your card, your billing address or your Apple ID. Your device checks with Apple whether a subscription is active and tells the app; that answer stays on the device.
5. Who processes it
- Anthropic chooses the dishes for your week.
- Google stores the recipe catalogue, generates the dish photographs and hosts them.
- Vercel runs the service that connects the app to the above.
None of them trains on data sent through their business APIs. These providers process data on our behalf. We do not sell data to anyone, and there is no advertising in Chefling.
6. Recipe photographs
Photographs of dishes are generated once and shared by everybody who is served that dish. They contain no personal information and are not linked to you. Chefling does not ask for access to your camera or to your photo library.
7. Children
Chefling is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
8. Your rights
Because Chefling holds no account and no profile, there is nothing to export or erase on our side beyond what is already on your phone. Deleting the app removes your data. If you signed in with Apple, you can revoke that at any time in your Apple account settings.
Under GDPR and CCPA you have the right to access, correct and erase personal data. Given the above, exercising those rights against Chefling is usually a matter of deleting the app. Write to us if you need anything more.
9. Security
Everything travels over encrypted connections. No system is perfect, and we do not claim otherwise.
10. Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it.
